Three UK StartUp Awards wins in twelve months. London Global StartUp of the Year last July. UK Global StartUp of the Year in September. Now London Rising Star.
The Rising Star category is the one that tells you the most about trajectory. It's not 'best company' or 'most innovative' - it's specifically 'this one is moving fast and the trajectory is steep.' For a bootstrapped company that's been live for 19 months, that's the award that matters.
What I keep thinking about: a year ago we were shortlisted for the London category and honestly unsure we'd make it past the first round. Now we're the team others are measured against. The distance between 'are we going to get shortlisted?' and 'of course we won' is shorter than people think. It just doesn't feel short while you're in it.
